What is SocialPaps?

SocialPaps is a brand new booking platform connecting customers with photographers, videographers, and content creators for any occasion. Whether you want to book a wedding photographer, find a content creator near you, or hire a videographer for an event — we champion transparent pricing and instant bookings so you can find and book Paps within minutes.

Who can be a SocialPap?

Anyone! A SocialPap can be a photographer, videographer, drone pilot or content creator — anyone who captures photo or video content for others. We've created this platform for both professional, established photographers, videographers, and content creators, as well as 'casual paps' — people who pursue photography or videography as a hobby or for friends. We're enabling anyone to join as a SocialPap and make an income doing what they love.

What makes SocialPaps different?

We champion transparent pricing and instant bookings. Paps manage their pricing, packages and availability within the platform so customers can see who is available, the total price upfront, and instantly book — no back and forth, no hidden fees.

What features does SocialPaps offer?
Find & Book Paps Search by date and location, then filter by Pap type, packages, and price to find the perfect SocialPap.
Secure Payment Protection We take full payment at the time of booking via Stripe and securely hold the funds until 2 days after the shoot, protecting both customers and Paps.
In-Platform Chat Paps and customers can communicate through our built-in messaging system after a booking is placed.
Content Links Paps will upload a link to the deliverables which will get emailed over to the customer so they can easily access and download their content.
Reviews Customers can leave their Pap a rating out of 5 and a comment, and Paps can add a rating for their customer.
Pap Dashboard Paps have access to a dashboard where they can manage their profile, availability, bookings, and view their earnings.
Pap Profile Link Paps, you get your own shareable profile link that you can use on social media, business cards, or anywhere else to direct people straight to your booking page.
Portfolio Showcase Paps can upload up to 15 photos or videos to their profile to showcase their previous work and style.
Pap Profile Verification Identity verification using a government-issued ID and a selfie. It's completely optional but verified Paps get a special badge on their profile.
Automated Email Updates Receive booking confirmations, reminders before a shoot, and helpful safety tips — all automatically by email.

For Customers

How do I make a booking on SocialPaps?

Search for Paps by location and date, browse profiles, and place bookings directly through the platform.
Whether you're looking to book a wedding photographer, a content creator to capture some social content for your business or a Casual Pap to take pictures of you enjoying your holiday - you can choose to book per hour or pick a package, select where you'd like to meet your Pap and complete your payment securely via Stripe. You'll receive a booking confirmation instantly and a reminder 24 hours before.

Can I chat to my Pap?

Yes, once you've placed a booking you'll see the option within your booking details to chat with your Pap. When either of you sends a message, the other will get an email notifying them — don't worry, we're smart enough to not spam you if you like to double text.

Are payments secure?

Yes, we use Stripe to handle our payments. Stripe is certified as a PCI Service Provider Level 1 — the highest, most rigorous level of security certification available. Neither us nor your Pap has access to your card details.

How much will I pay?

The price you see is the price you pay — this includes all platform booking fees so there are never any hidden charges at checkout.

How can I pay?

We use Stripe to handle all payments, which supports a variety of payment methods including bank card and Apple Pay. You can even spread the cost using Klarna, so you don't have to pay everything upfront.

Where can I book a SocialPap?

We have SocialPaps all over the world and more join every day! You can find Paps in London, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Manchester, New York, Las Vegas, Hawaii, Sydney, and across Europe, Scotland, Canada, America, Australia and beyond. Use our search to find a Pap near you — new locations are added all the time.

What if no one is available on my date?

We've got new Paps joining every day, so check back soon!

How will I receive my photos and videos?

Once your Pap has edited and prepared your content, they'll upload a link to the deliverables directly on the platform. You'll receive an email with the link so you can easily access and download everything.

How long will it take to receive my content?

Turnaround times vary between Paps and most will let you know in their bio on their profile before you book. If not, send them a message once you book so you know what to expect.

Can I leave a review?

Yes! After your booking is complete you can leave your Pap a rating out of 5 and a written review. Reviews help other customers find great Paps and help Paps grow their presence on the platform.

Can I book the same Pap again?

Absolutely! If you loved your Pap, you can visit their profile directly and book them again for any date they have available.

What types of shoots can I book?

It's entirely up to you and your Pap! Whether it's a portrait session, wedding photography, event coverage, social media content creation, couples shoot, family photos, or something else entirely — just discuss what you're looking for in the chat after booking.

What happens if I don't show up to my booking?

If you fail to attend a booking, you will not receive a refund. Please ensure you arrive at the agreed location and time.

What is the cancellation policy for customers?

Bookings of 5 hours or more: 90% refund with 7+ days' notice, no refund with less than 7 days.
Bookings between 3 and 5 hours: Full refund with 7+ days' notice, no refund with less than 7 days.
Bookings of 2 hours or less: Full refund with 3+ days' notice, no refund with less than 3 days.

What should I do if my Pap doesn't show up?

If your Pap does not attend a confirmed booking, please contact help@socialpaps.com as soon as possible.

Who owns the photos and videos from my booking?

The Pap retains ownership of all deliverables, but you receive a non-exclusive, perpetual, worldwide licence to use them for personal and business purposes.

I'm just starting out. Can I join?

Absolutely! We recommend everyone adds their experience in their bio on their profile, but we welcome all levels of experience on SocialPaps. It's a great way to get discovered by customers and build your portfolio.

Where are you looking for Paps?

All over the world! You can add up to 12 locations and be a Pap anywhere. You do need to have a bank account in the UK, Europe, US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, India or Singapore to join right now — but we're working on expanding that list.

How do I communicate with my customers?

Once a booking is confirmed, you'll have access to an in-built chat feature so you can chat directly with your customer — agree on a meeting point, discuss the shoot, or answer any questions they have.

Can I charge travel fees?

Yes! You can set a travel fee for any of your locations. Simply set a price per km and, optionally, a free radius — a distance within which no travel fee is charged.

For example:

  • If you set a free radius of 10km and charge £0.50 per km beyond that, a booking 16km away would incur a travel fee of £3.00 (6km × £0.50)
  • If you don't set a free radius, that same booking 16km away would cost £8.00 (16km × £0.50)

The travel fee is calculated automatically and shown to customers at the time of booking — no surprises for either side.

Is there a cost to join as a Pap?

There's no upfront cost to join as a Pap — it's completely free to sign up and create your profile. You'll receive 90% of the price you set on the platform. We take a platform fee which allows us to run the platform and continue building great new features for you.

How are payments and payouts handled?

All payments are processed through Stripe. You receive 90% of your listed price for each completed booking. Payouts are sent no earlier than two days after the booking.

Can I temporarily disable new bookings?

Yes! If for any reason you need to stop new bookings coming in — whether that's a family emergency, a holiday, or you've just won the lottery — you can hit Bookings Enabled on your Pap Dashboard and that will pop up with an option to temporarily disable future bookings. This can be undone at any time and only prevents customers from making new bookings. It has no effect on any bookings that are already confirmed.

Do customers need to agree to my own terms and conditions?

No. By using SocialPaps, both you and your customer are agreeing to abide by the platform's terms and conditions. You should not ask or expect your customer to sign any additional contract or terms of your own — the platform terms cover both parties for all bookings made through SocialPaps.

What happens if I cancel a booking?

If you cancel, the customer receives a full refund. If cancelled less than 7 days before, an automatic one-star review may be applied to your account.

What if a customer does not show up?

You are entitled to a full payout. Notify help@socialpaps.com and provide evidence of attendance.

Who owns the photos and videos I deliver?

You retain full ownership. Customers receive a perpetual, non-exclusive licence to use the content for personal and business purposes.

Do I need my own insurance?

Yes, you should arrange appropriate business insurance to cover your work as a Pap. SocialPaps does not provide insurance for Paps or their equipment.

How do I delete my Pap profile?

Contact help@socialpaps.com to request profile deletion.
